In the beginning, Lau Kawar Lake was a village called Kawar. According to Rahman's story, as a resident of a neighboring village who has lived for a long time, there was once a child who was asked by his mother to deliver rice wrap for his sick grandmother, but on the way, the child ate chicken. Inside only bones remained. Then he repacked it and the boy walked back to his grandmother's house who was also waiting for the child to come.
When the children came, the grandmother opened the rice package and found that it was only bones and there was nothing left to eat, and the grandmother was angry. In anger, the grandmother wept bitterly while swearing that her village would sink because of her grandson's disobedience. Then came the earthquake and then the heavy rain until finally, the village sank into a lake, the locals called it Lake Lau Kawar.

There is a myth that if someone bathes in Lake Lau Kawar when the water is red, the person who bathed will disappear. Based on Rahman's testimony, this myth has happened before, the incident happened about ten years ago. Reportedly, Lake Lau Kawar which has a depth of 40-50 meters asks for a male sacrifice once a year.
This lake asks for sacrifices because there used to be a small family that did not have children, this family made pesugihan to Lau Kawar lake. In return, the family had to make sacrifices if the child was born. But when the family forgot to give a sacrifice, Lake Lau Kawar finally took the child as a sacrifice and took everyone who was swimming when the water turned red.
